Compendex & EI Backfile
February 2013: Compendex has reached 15 Million records:
Compendex has hit the 15 million mark in February. This demonstrates the steep increase in the number of articles that have been indexed in the last few years. In 2012 alone, we have added over 1 million records. Since 2007 Compendex has grown more than 45%, from both journals and conference proceedings. Every record is carefully selected and indexed to ensure a comprehensive source of quality, engineering-specific literature that engineering students and professionals can rely on.
Compendex is one of the most comprehensive engineering literature databases available to engineers. With 14 million records across 190 engineering disciplines, Compendex delivers the comprehensive, precise information and insights that researchers need. Available on Engineering Village, users get results that are consistently accurate. Relevant. Up-to-date. And easy to find. Compendex indexes 1,031 journals that contain articles-in-press.
Users know that when they search with Compendex, valuable information is not overlooked. Thousands of new records are added weekly and are indexed according to the Engineering Index Thesaurus. And with email and RSS alerts on new records in areas of interest, users stay up-to-date on new developments.
Since 1970, Compendex has been the engineering database of choice for researchers, students, faculty and engineering professionals around the world. In fact, 98% of the top 50 U.S. engineering schools currently subscribe to Compendex. To view the 2013 Compendex Source List, click here.
