Engineering Information - Step Ahead

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ChemVillage™ Enhanced with New Databases

15 December 2002 Elsevier Engineering Information, Inc., a leader in providing research information and support to the chemistry and engineering communities, has announced this month that it will add additional databases to ChemVillage™, its highly advanced online information delivery product.

Slated for release on March 15th, ChemVillage™ will provide access to Bretherick's Reactive Chemical Hazards Database, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts (CEABA), Advanced Chemistry Development Labs Databases (ACD/Labs) and OHS Material Safety Data Sheets Database.

Bretherick's Reactive Chemical Hazards Database, an Elsevier product, provides information on potential reaction hazards associated with chemical compounds or reactions systems. Source data include journals specializing in safety matters, synthetic and preparative textbooks, safety manuals, data sheets and case histories. This database is structure searchable.

Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts (CEABA), produced by the German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA), is the premier specialist database covering all areas of chemical engineering, from theoretical studies through to industrial applications, and of biotechnological applications, products and techniques.

The ACD/Labs Physico-Chemical Property databases and Spectroscopy Databases are structure-searchable databases providing a source of experimentally-referenced physico-chemical property data and NMR data respectively.

OHS Material Safety Data Sheets Database contains almost 56,000 Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) from MDL Information Systems Inc. and covers pure substances and commonly used chemical mixtures.

Additional new features to the ChemVillage™ include a chemical industry news link from LexisNexis. ChemVillage™ subscribers will have access to the latest national and international news that is directly affecting the Chemical industry.

With these additional databases, ChemVillage™ users will have access to up to 19 databases, including Chimica, a bibliographic database that covers over 600 of the most important and most cited journals for chemistry and chemical engineering, Chemical Business NewsBase, the leading provider of worldwide chemical business news and information and Beilstein Abstracts, which provides users access to over 800,000 abstracts and citations from organic chemistry journals.
