FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
INSPEC® now available via Engineering Village 2
15 January 2003 Elsevier Engineering Information Inc. (Ei) has made a further step towards its goal to enable its customers in the engineering community to access key data sources via one single web interface. Subscribers to its platform Engineering Village 2 are now able to license INSPEC in addition to Ei's own database Compendex® and the other engineering data sources that are provided as part of this platform.
The full integration of INSPEC into EV2 ensures that all search features provided for Compendex are available for INSPEC. Both Quick and Expert searches are supported by lookup indexes for controlled vocabulary, author names, publishers, author affiliations and serial titles. In addition to the indexes offered in the Quick Search, the Expert Search offers many more searchable fields, including INSPEC classification codes and INSPEC material identity, and enables users to focus their searches by using search limits like Treatments and Disciplines. Links to full text are also available through Crossref.
Produced by the Institution of Electrical Engineers, INSPEC is a bibliographic information service providing access to scientific and technical literature in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computers and computing, and information technology.
