Engineering Information (Ei)'s platform Engineering Village hosts 12 databases that cut across engineering disciplines and content sources. Our products help students, librarians, engineers, and researchers make sense of their research and apply it to their work. Trade publications, peer-reviewed journals, patents, and conference proceedings are organized and contextualized to fit the user's engineering needs. By providing a single point of access for users, personalized services such as RSS feeds, email alerts, and saved searches keep an organized record of research. From Compendex to EnCompass, Ei's products are designed to make the research process faster, easier, and more insightful.
Engineering Village products:
Compendex & Ei Backfile
Are two of the world’s most comprehensive engineering literature databases. With over 15.8 million records across 190 engineering disciplines, Compendex quickly delivers the comprehensive, precise information and insight that researchers need.
Helps researchers to evaluate a region through over 2.6 million earth science abstracts. Users can comprehensively review regional geographic structures, relation to natural resources and links to local resources including transportation and regional planning.
Allows researchers to quickly discover scientific and technical information contained within U.S. and European patent applications and grants. It contains nearly 12.4 million patents filed with the USPTO and nearly 4.3 million patents filed with the EPO.
Is the fully searchable engineering reference database of over 2,499 e-books from Elsevier and William Andrew Publishers. Users can find targeted information from quality sources including engineering handbooks, professional references, how-to, and practice guides.
Aggregates nearly 2.5 million unclassified government reports from research conducted in 350 subject areas. Users leverage NTIS to find vital information in fields ranging from energy to commerce to defense.
Chimica & CBNB
Are the premier information sources for chemistry and chemical engineering. CBNB covers corporate financial and business news, R&D developments, economic trends, and legislative changes. Chimica contains nearly 3.7 million literature abstracts from the most influential international chemistry journals.
Published by the American Geological Institute, contains more than 3.4 million abstracted geoscience records that are indexed according to the GeoRef Thesaurus using controlled vocabulary terms, ensuring relevant search results.
Is the pulp and paper industry’s most comprehensive resource for news and information and contains over 660,000 records. Users quickly find answers to their research questions through targeted literature and reports in 15 subject areas.
Inspec & Inspec Archive
Abstracted and indexed databases for physics, electrical engineering, electronics and computer science information. Produced by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), its 13.6 million specially selected records.
EnCompassLIT & PAT
Are the premiere sources for scientific literature and patent abstracts in downstream petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. Both databases are updated weekly. Patents contains nearly 600,000 records. Literature contains nearly 1 million records.
